Since I’m obsessed with food trucks, and have been seeing so many posts on Facebook and Instagram about who is there we made our way to the Franklin Street Bazaar. It is held on the grounds of the West Branch Library on Franklin Street on Saturdays (June 18-September 17, 2016) 9 AM- 1 PM and hosted by the Franklin Street Events Association.
It is a fairly busy place with lots of people, strollers, and dogs. I didn’t get many pictures with it being like this. This one shows all the food trucks lined up on Franklin. The booths are all behind them.
What’s at the bazaar?
Only handcrafted/grown items are sold or skill/educational booths are there. There are no Origami Owl, Scentsy, Tupperware, etc. type booths like you see at craft shows.
There were a variety of produce stands, knife sharpening, tarot reading, hand sewn items, drinks, baked goods, etc.
What’s to eat?
Oh boy!! There is lots to eat and drink!! There was fudge, coffee, hot dogs, tamales, brownies, juices, pizza, Chinese, bbq, cookies, breads, gelato, and even crepes.
Who was there?
I will try to list off who I can remember seeing or visiting along with their Facebook pages:
Lucid Coffee with iced tea and cold brew coffee (You know I love this place!)
3 Chicks Fudgery with a variety of yummy fudges (I love peanut butter!!)
The Lunchbox had their BBQ Cheese Fries and sandwiches (Yes, BBQ Cheese Fries)
The Pizza Revolution had the double decker bus that sends out pizzas in just a couple minutes.
Wild Crepes has savory and dessert crepes (I had to have a S’mores one! Then tried the Crepe Cake on another visit!)
The Evansville Lapidary Society had a variety of fossils and rocks. We got the wooden elephant, treasure box with rocks, and the “croaking” frog.
Hat and Rabbit had their pretty and clever embroidered towels and pillow.
Jeanne’s Gelato & More with a variety of gelato flavors to chose from.
Oven Light Cookies with the prettiest decorated sugar cookies I have seen, and very yummy!
Cisse’s Bread Bakery
Sweet Tee and Company has shirts and fun coffee mugs (I got one for me!)
Zo’s Chocolate Fix has cookies, brownies, and all kinds of baked chocolate goodies!
Stonewall Farm has pasture raised cattle, chicken, pork, lamb available by the pound or in monthly packages.
Chat’s Gourmet Barbecue Sauce has a homemade spicy/tangy sauce we are trying this week.
iPICKHERE offers you homegrown items you pick out online and pick up at one of the designated places.
Snickerdoodle has had classes or activities for kids listed on their Facebook page during some of the famer’s markets.
Salvage Sculpture makes art pieces from scrap or salvaged metal. He has the most beautiful owl I want so much!
Be Happy Pie Company has full sized pies and pie bites. The apple pie bite was so good and had that great homemade taste.
There are so many more!! There is a lot to see, and so much to eat! I enjoyed spending a cheat day there…gives me lots of motivation to work hard that week for some delicious treats.
I wish someone was selling just sodas at a table. The toughest part besides sitting on the edge of sidewalk to eat was finding drinks.
