Unsure of what the weather would bring this 4th of July (we had ridiculous amounts of rain the week before) we planned to go to the matinee showing of Despicable Me 2 (rated PG98 minutes) Thursday.

The basic plot is that Gru is now a busy family man dealing with the girls, and all the things girls like: princesses, boys, etc.  He has basically left his days of being a villain behind. In comes Lucy from the AVL (Anti Villain League) to recruit him to help with capturing a villain who stole a dangerous chemical. He jumps at the chance to get back in action, and of course those marvelous gadgets. I would totally buy a “Lipstick Taser”!

The Minions are back of course and the little scene stealers are as cute as ever, and I just love when they sing..hilarious!However, these cute, little things (no idea what they are) are in trouble. Something or someone is taking them. Who? Where? Why? Find out when you see Despicable Me 2!

Gru is voiced by Steve Carrell, who most everyone knows from The Office: Season One  or if your my kids, the movie Evan Almighty (Widescreen Edition).

Lucy is voiced by Kristen Wiig, who I know mainly because of Bridesmaids, but The Hubs recognized her voice as being Lola Bunny from Looney Tunes Show: Season 1 V.1! Gotta give him props for that. I am normally the tv/movie trivia person.

It is a fun, family movie. We all enjoyed it, and I can see adding it to our at home video collection. Stay for the credits for a little more Minion fun.

Despicable Me 2 is available for pre-order at Amazon. I am a big fan of Digital Copies (disks break when you have kids or get is a nice back up to have)
