Make Your Own Sprinkle Pancakes

Update: I made some of these the other day, but was in a rush so I left the pumpkin flat pieces in and they turned out fine. I still would not use the big spider pieces..I have had those melt and leave holes in pancake.
The Girl loves the pancake mixes that have the sprinkles in them. I tried before to make these, and now have figured out what sprinkles work best.
Make your mix first. I use box mix, because I was making Halloween and Chocolate Chip versions so I could freeze them again. Freezing pancakes has been a HUGE timesaver. The Boy loves Chocolate Chip, and The Girl likes regular/rainbow ones. They reheat great in the microwave, and save me lots of time and dishes!
Add in sprinkles. I used about 1/4 cup for mine, but it’s all a matter of opinion how much you add.
I am stressing to add the sprinkles last, because my batter was a little thick. I had to add a little more water and that started making the black sprinkles color run. To avoid that make sure you have your consistency right before adding them. Cook the pancakes as you normally would. I like to use nonstick square skillet like this 11-Inch Nonstick Square Frying Pan when making pancakes, French toast, grilled cheese, my homemade Cuban sandwiches, bacon, etc.
You have sprinkle pancakes that you can custom make at a fraction of the cost of buying the sprinkle mixes. I can buy the box of mix for $2 on sale, and it only needs water. Sprinkles can range from $1-3 a bottle, but last a long time and can be used for cookies and cakes as well.
