Saturday Weigh In Vacation Edition
We are on vacation this week. We are getting ready to head home. We left Tuesday and went to Indianapolis, IN to see family at Incredible Pizza and go to the Children’s Museum (wonderful, must go place for kids).
Then we went to Dayton, OH for a couple days (a brief stop to see more family). There we went to the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery (nice hands on museum for kids of all ages in the middle of a beautiful park) and went to the US Air Force Museum (big hit with The Boy, but not so much with The Girl). A stop at The Magic Castle for games and food.
Now we are in Fort Wayne, IN (after a brief stop at the Marie Stein Shrine) and will be visiting the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo tomorrow. This should be a big hit with both kids.
Most vacations we go to all zoos, but this year tried some new things. We learned having kids with an almost 5 year age difference that is tricky. The Girl just turned 5 and The Boy will be 10 in August so interests and abilities are different. Zoo and Children’s Museums work the best.
So..eating? Oh man..it’s been bad I know! We eat out every meal except for the free breakfast (Country Inn and Suites). We’ve had Joe’s Crab Shack, Steak n Shake, Wendy’s, Incredible Pizza, Culver’s, and other snackies.
Exercise? Well I exercised Monday at home. We have walked quite a bit. The Children’s Museum in Indy we walked over 6000 steps (3 miles). The Air Force Museum is 3 hangars to explore so a good mile there.
The first hotel had a really warm pool we spent time in, but no fitness area. The second hotel had a small gym. I loved the Elliptical (it was a Life Fitness one), and it was the first time I was able to do more than a couple minutes on one. I exercised both nights there.
This last hotel had a larger gym, but the elliptical was an older model and I couldn’t use it. It was uncomfortable to do. I walked on the treadmill and rode the recumbent bike.
I managed 30 minutes each day for the last 3 days. So 4 out of the last 6 days I had good workouts.
I don’t have a scale to weigh so I will do that Monday morning. I don’t hope for a loss, and probably gained. Fingers crossed no more than 2 lbs.
Last week I weighed 158 lbs. It had been since I think September of 2012 since I weighed that so I hope to not be too off track.
Update..I weighed this morning (Monday) and weighed 163 lbs.
5 lbs gain! Yikes!! Hate to see what it would’ve been without exercise.
Getting back on schedule is going to be a challenge anyway. We come home Sunday, drive an hour to get our cats Monday (my parents are kitty-sitting).
I will be happy to go back to sharing a bed with The Hubs and not The Girl. She is a total bed hog!! She sleeps in the middle or with her knee in my back.
I will update Monday with the official weight (and restock the fridge with my salad and wrap supplies)
