I received the product from Uncle Milton in exchange for my time reviewing it. I also have another one available for giveaway. Opinions of this are my own (and my kiddos who played with it)

This is the National Geographic Explorer’s Torch (retails $19.99 on site).  My kids and I were both excited to get this out of the box and start checking it out.

It comes with a hanging bracket if you want to have a spot to hang it when not playing. I like this idea, but with two kids and one torch you can do the math and figure out a battle would ensue on whose room got the torch.

It was simple to get going. You just unscrew the top and put in 2 AA batteries and put the “flame” back on.

There is no on/off switch. To turn it on and off you just twist the “flame”. My 4 year old had no problem figuring it out.

I really like that it has a soft “flame” so in case someone gets poked (once again 2 kids here) not likely to have an injury. The “flame” flickers like a real torch.

My kids like to hunt for “treasure” in the house (which means hide the presents REAL good this year) and this is perfect for them to take on their adventures. I thought it would be fun to take to one of our Scouts meetings, turn off the lights, and pass the torch and tell stories.
